Charity knitting for our local hospitals

Charity knitting for our local hospitals

I have been asked by my niece who is a first responder to share this post about some little hats that our local hospital needs.

I have been asked for a pattern so I have made one up for people to knit.

4mm needles

DK yarn

Small Premature Baby Hat - 7" circumference, 3.5" high

Cast on 36 stitches

Row 1 - Knit

Repeat this row 3 more times

Row 5 - knit to end of row

Row 6 - Purl to end of row

Repeat these two rows 6 more times

Decreasing the top of the hat

*K3, K2tog, repeat from * to last stitch

Purl to end of row

*K2, k2tog, repeat from * to last stitch, k1

Purl to end of row

Cut the yarn leaving a tail

With a yarn needle, pull the yarn through the remaining stitches and secure

Sew up side seams and weave in all ends of yarn
